Two days of workshops led by choreographer and dancer Marco Torrice to prepare the 14th September performance that will get everyone dancing.

Melting Pot is a dance practice born with the idea of facilitating dialogue between dancers of different styles. It is a space where people can express their emotions, such as joy, anger, sensuality and social frustration. It also helps movement enthusiasts of all genders build their self-esteem and overcome shyness through a sense of unity and togetherness. Rhythm is very important in Melting Pot, as it takes on the function of a ‘communication bridge’ and helps increase the sense of community.

Melting Pot mixes different approaches to performance. This includes the ‘Cypher’, an improvisational structure typical of Street Dance, with participatory performance, in which the audience and performers merge into the same function.

Melting Pot takes the shape of workshops and classes that usually end with an improvisation session open to the public, which naturally turns into the vibrant atmosphere of a party.

How it works
The workshop takes place over two days and lasts about 3 hours for each meeting.

The workshop takes place at Palazzetto dei Nobili:
Friday 13th September 2 to 5pm
Saturday 14th September 2 to 5pm

How to participate
In order to register you must fill in an online form by Monday 9th September.
The registration to the workshop will be confirmed by Tuesday 10th September.

Requirements
We ask attendants to participate to both days of the workshop and the final performance that will take place on the 14th September at 9:30pm. For further info on the final event: Melting Pot Jam session
