PERFORMATIVE 06Saturday 12 September

MAXXI L’Aquila
free admittance
your ticket becomes a wristband valid for all three days of PERFORMATIVE 06 on first entry: you’ll be able to access the various events on the programme without needing a new booking for each performance or day, subject to availability.

Words, sound, movement: you choose where to stop and watch.

From 12 noon on Saturday, PERFORMATIVE 06 kicks off with the Festival’s grand opening. A chance to tell you how the long weekend of performances ahead of us will unfold.

From morning until evening, videos, music, and talks fills the Museum’s spaces with creativity: the corte, the camino hall and the voliera hall, the multi-purpose and video halls, and Piazza Santa Maria Paganica, directly opposite the entrance to MAXXI L’Aquila.

The programme ranges, for example, from La foresta di voci by Camilla Barbarito and Gianni Moretti with students from ABAQ – the Academy of Fine Arts in L’Aquila, where improvisation, rhythm and collective harmony transform the space and engage the audience – to the grand tribute to Philip Glass by choreographers Michele Pogliani, Lucinda Childs and Shintaro Hirahara, in which the dancers perform elegant and visually intense pieces set to the maestro’s minimalist music. Then contemporary music blends with electronic and house music in a live DJ set by DJ Trixie, a true Abruzzese, who takes us on a journey through rhythm and experimentation.

All you have to do is choose – or experience it all.
