Fabio Mauri. Ritratto a luce solida offers an opportunity to explore and gain a deeper understanding of the themes, ideas and forms that Mauri presents through his works, which are on display in the exhibition ‘Fabio Mauri. The Years of L’Aquila.

“Art is something to which you give a finger and then it takes the whole hand. It becomes the profession, the activity or the way of being in the world, which has the power to win every hand in the game.” Thus Fabio Mauri reflects on the creative process to which he has dedicated his entire life as an artist, lecturer and consummate thinker.

He does so in one of the many interviews collected in Fabio Mauri. Ritratto a luce solida> (2017), the documentary film directed by Andrea Bettinetti and produced by Michele Bongiorno’s Good Day Films. Drawing on the archival holdings of Studio Mauri and the family, and enriched by the testimonies of curators, artists and critics, the documentary offers a further window into Mauri’s life, tracing his entire career.
