A danced discourse investigating the memories and traces left on the body by the culture of control, violence and offence
Starting from one’s own autobiographical experience, the performance manifests itself as a series of “protest” actions, which arise from solitary and meditative practices. Mantric practices developed during months of social distancing, which arise to train the skin to release what it perceives as restrained, to pronounce wounds and expose the authentic ‘living body’, to offer one’s own vulnerability as a condition through which to let one’s own revolution operate. Replacing the rigid postures of defence and control with new fluid, permeable and transparent postures. The body becomes the symbol of a territory in which to direct Cura’s thoughts in these danced protests, giving rise to a new instantaneous alphabet, a succession of gestures and actions as liberated impetuses.
