A project that explores the complexity of human and emotional bonds, transforming distance into living material for relationships and stories.

Claudia Losi develops participatory art projects that involve different communities in a process-based dynamic, focusing attention on the relationship between human beings and their environment and on the relationships between those who inhabit it. In one of the reactivations of the work Una volta, all’improvviso (Once, suddenly), the artist left the museum to work with a group of inmates at the Rebibbia prison: rather than stimulating the children’s imagination, she wanted to reflect with them on the forced distance between parent and child, where affection can take on complex and sometimes very painful forms. The workshop experience of those months gave rise to a video/audio animation: audio fragments recorded inside and outside Rebibbia are intertwined with readings of texts specially written by the artist.
