International FestivalPERFORMATIVE.01Contact(less)
The first edition of MAXXI L’Aquila’s first performance art, dance, theatre and music international festival kicks off.
Four days of complete immersion, from 8 am to late at night, with over 30 events featuring art, dance, theatre, music and meetings that will turn L’Aquila into an urban laboratory of creativity and experimentation, involving citizens of all ages.
There will be many artists, performers and musicians of national and international importance, featuring: Virgilio Sieni, Cristina Donà and Daniele Ninarello, Ninos Du Brasil, Hassan Khan, Kinkaleri, MASBEDO, mk/Michele Di Stefano, Tomás Saraceno. In addition, the students of the Academy of Fine Arts will also be protagonists with live artistic actions.
CONTACT(less) evokes a paradox: while on the one hand, the lack of Contact linked to digitalisation is a sign of progress, on the other, it triggers a new desire for interaction. The artists’ actions are therefore intended to reactivate a weaving of relationships and to affirm the centrality of the performing arts in Abruzzo’s capital, in the wake of a tradition of great artists who have worked in the area, in particular Joseph Beuys and Fabio Mauri, to whom this first edition is dedicated.
The programme includes new productions and performances that have already won important international recognition, with particular attention paid to the events of the present, in particular the use of virtual connections due to distancing.
