MASBEDO talk about the design and creation of the work Gli occhi del topo, their investigation into L’Aquila’s past and underground passages.

On the occasion of the exhibition In itinere, , the artists talk about their work Gli occhi del topo, created on commission by MAXXI L’Aquila in collaboration with the Museo Nazionale d’Abruzzo MUNDA.
The artists’ research focuses on the Renaissance defensive routes within the Spanish Fortress of L’Aquila, which are characterised by an articulated system of sound connections that allowed the soldiers to communicate in the dungeons. The work in the exhibition, consisting of two screens, draws the visitor into an immersive and evocative environment that evokes the voices and sounds of the stories that took place inside the Fort over time.
