A musical performance characterised by the deconstruction of trance and hard techno, accompanying the presentation of the exhibition project Windows to Look In*.
Using repetition and isolation as key tools in his production, Senni’s recordings, installations and performances deconstruct and almost sadistically subvert the euphoric sounds and imagery of rave culture. Through his artistic research, Lorenzo Senni is dedicated to investigating and abstracting the archetypes and mechanisms of specific dance music genres.
A producer, composer and multidisciplinary artist, throughout his career he has performed and exhibited his work in internationally renowned institutions, including Centre Pompidou Paris, MACBA, TATE Modern, Serpentine Gallery London, Pirelli Hangar Bicocca Milan.
AAT has been presented at TATE in London, MUNCH in Oslo, HWK and CTM in Berlin, the Serralves Foundation in Porto, Today’s Art in Den Haag, STUK in Leuven.
* You can also find Lorenzo Senni’s project Windows to Look In (one of the winners of the Italian Council 2023, a programme for the international promotion of Italian art by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture) in the project room of MAXXI L’Aquila.
