Il jazz italiano per le terre del sismaperformance by Marcello Magliocchi
Palazzo Ardinghelli’s courtyard
free admission subject to availability
“Movements” is the theme chosen by the artistic direction of “Il jazz italiano per le terre del sisma” by Francesca Corrias, Roberto Ottaviano and Fausto Savatteri.
The event will take place from 25 August to 3 September, with the participation of some of the protagonists of a musical genre that never stops researching and experimenting. The venues that will host the initiative are Camerino, Castelluccio di Norcia, Amatrice and L’Aquila, strengthening the organisers’ commitment in the crater area of the four regions involved, Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche and Umbria.
At MAXXI L’Aquila, the protagonist of the initiative is musician Marcello Magliocchi who presents the PeaceRings concert, played with the aid of Ringmantradan sound sculptures. The Ringmantradan ‘bells’ are the brainchild of Marcello Magliocchi and the painter and sculptor Tullio De Gennaro. The artefacts are cast by UFIP of Pistoia (M° Luigi Tronci).
His work was consciously created with the help of artisan techniques of the highest level, in an attempt to give visual perception (which is most immediate) the long duration of sound perception, stretched through the time of listening.
