PERFORMATIVE 06

Three days, one venue, fifty events. From 11 to 13 September, Performative returns to the Museum with a new format to explore.

Performative, the international festival of performance art, dance, music and theatre, is now in its sixth year, coinciding with L’Aquila as Italian Capital of Culture. This year’s theme, curated by Fanny Borel and Oscar Pizzo, is Combinatorie, where art, contemporary music, dance, poetry, theatre and electronic music come together and influence one another.

For the first time, Palazzo Ardinghelli becomes a unique venue, a multi-faceted space to be explored at your leisure, amidst simultaneous events and artistic performances, as you chart your own course step by step.

Three special tributes are on the programme: to Philip Glass, who will turn 90 in 2027; to Daniele Lombardi, 80 years after his birth; and to Ziad Antar, a Lebanese video artist and photographer. Alongside these figures, works by established artists such as Lucinda Childs, Shirin Neshat, Steve Reich, Hiroshi Sugimoto, John Cage, Achille Perilli, Giorgio Battistelli, Toti Scialoja, Jimmy Durham and Jacob TV engage in dialogue with the work of a new generation of artists, including Anagoor, Pierre Jodlowsky, Camilla Barbarito, Matteo Di Genova and Eleonora Fisco, Bedirhan Dehmen, Rä di Martino, Michele Pogliani, Sirine Fattouh, Vittorio Montalti, Diana Anselmo and Dj Trixie.
