A singer transforms emotions into a river of tears, linking human weeping to the eternal cycle of water.
A performer, dressed in black with a necklace of salt pearls, sings Jeff Buckley’s Grace a cappella until she is in tears. This song is said to be a premonition of its author’s drowning in the muddy waters of a Mississippi tributary. This liquefaction of our emotions connects us to the world, and in this overflow, water molecules emerge, whose residence time varies: 3,200 years in the ocean, 9 days in the atmosphere, 10,000 years in groundwater and 10 days in the human body. Tears have known the sea, which they will soon find again.
This intimate high water, which we have learned to contain, transforms the singer into a fountain, adding a hundredth spout to the emblematic Fountain of 99 Spouts in L’Aquila.
