The project and languages behind the artwork on display at the Museum.
In the second event of this cycle, we meet the artist Daniela De Lorenzo who, by exploring fields of identity and perception of the self in space, adopts the languages of performance art, video, photography and sculpture. For the work entitled Come se the artist films herself from above, in the centre of the map with its cartographic references removed, while she makes small movements that continually redefine her position in space. Once this performative act has been converted into frames, De Lorenzo extracts a selection of digitally processed images that are translated into layers of overlapping papers stuck together from which a new figure emerges, transfigured and shifting according to the angle of the viewer’s gaze.
